The practice of Giovanni Valdeavellano
Studio POA was founded by Giovanni Valdeavellano, a Guatemala-born designer based in upstate New York. The studio makes furniture and homeware in wood, stone composite and glass, and remains open for custom orders.
In 2020 the studio presented a collection of wooden tables, chairs and mirrors as part of VDF x Sight Unseen, designed in homage to the landscape, art and architecture of Guatemala. That December, Sight Unseen named Studio POA to its American Design Hot List, describing work that combines sculpture, digital technologies and craft.
